If you’ve ever cleaned your home, stepped back, and thought, “How is it already messy again?”, you’re not alone. Real life moves fast. Kids, work, guests, pets, and busy weeks have a way of undoing even the best intentions. This blog exists for one simple reason: to make cleaning feel more manageable, more predictable, and a lot less stressful.
Cleaning Tips & Checklists is where we share practical routines and small, proven methods that help you keep your home in good shape without turning every weekend into a marathon. You will not find complicated theories here. You will find steps you can actually use, whether you are trying to keep up with weekly house cleaning, planning a deep clean, or preparing for a move-in or move-out.

We’re Experts European Cleaning, and we’ve been serving the Eastside and Greater Seattle area since 1989. Our work takes us into homes and apartments across the region, including Des Moines, Bellevue, Redmond, and Mercer Island. Over the years, we’ve learned something important: most people do not need “perfect”. They need a reliable system that works in their real home, with their real schedule.
Why we started this blog
There is no shortage of cleaning advice online. The problem is that a lot of it is either unrealistic, overly complicated, or written for a situation that does not match your home. One person swears by vinegar for everything. Another tells you to buy ten specialized products. And somewhere in the middle, you are standing in your kitchen with a sponge, wondering what is actually worth your time.
We started this blog to bring things back to basics. We want to share what we know from decades of hands-on experience, in a way that feels clear and doable. That means simple routines, sensible product guidance, and checklists that help you get results without overthinking.
If you’d like to learn more about who we are and how we work, you can read our story here.
And if you want to see the services we offer, you’ll find them here: our house cleaning services.
The promise behind our motto
Our motto is simple: Same Cleaner, Same Day, Same Time.
If you’ve ever tried to coordinate cleaning with a busy household, you already understand why this matters. Consistency makes everything easier. When the same person returns, your home is familiar to them. They remember what you like, what you do not like, and what details matter most to you. When your cleaning happens on the same day and time, it becomes part of your routine instead of another thing to juggle.
That consistency is also how long-term quality gets built. Cleaning is not a one-time event. It is a rhythm. And when you have a rhythm, you spend less time catching up and more time enjoying your space.
Our European standards, in plain language
We sometimes describe our approach with four short phrases, because they capture what our clients tell us they value most:
- German thoroughness
- Swedish spotlessness
- Polish flexibility
- Discrete as a Swiss bank
In everyday terms, it means we are detail-oriented, we aim for tidy finishes you can see, we adapt to your schedule and your priorities, and we treat your home and your privacy with respect. We understand that a home is personal. We clean like guests who are trusted, not like strangers who rush.
Why clients choose us
If you are new here, this is what our clients tend to appreciate most:
- Consistent quality since 1989
- Detailed checklists and tidy finishes
- Flexible scheduling and custom plans because every home is different
- Respect for privacy and property
- Long-term clients and excellent references
We’re proud of our history, but we’re even more proud of the relationships behind it. When someone stays with a cleaning company for years, it usually comes down to trust, consistency, and the feeling that their home is genuinely cared for.
What you’ll find on this blog
This blog is built around the types of cleaning that show up most often in real life, not in a showroom:
- House cleaning routines that keep your home under control week to week
- Deep cleaning guides for kitchens, bathrooms, floors, baseboards, and the places that quietly collect dust
- Move-in and move-out checklists so you know what to do first, what to skip, and what makes the biggest difference
- Time-saving methods like 15-minute resets, weekly plans, and seasonal refresh routines
- Tool and product guidance that is practical, plain-language, and focused on what actually helps
You will notice a theme: we like systems. A good system helps you clean faster, stay consistent, and avoid the cycle of “ignore it until it becomes overwhelming”.
Start here: a simple roadmap
If you’re not sure where to begin, here are a few upcoming guides we’re building next. Each one is designed to be easy to follow, even if you only have limited time.
- A realistic weekly cleaning checklist for busy homes
- A deep-clean bathroom plan that feels thorough, not exhausting
- A move-in and move-out checklist with the priority order that saves hours
- A kitchen degrease routine for stovetop, backsplash, and cabinet fronts
- Floors made simple: how to keep them looking good longer between cleans
As these posts go live, we’ll link them here so you can treat this page as your “start here” hub.

One quick question for you
What is the hardest area to keep clean in your home right now? The kitchen, the bathroom, the floors, or something else entirely?
If you tell us what you’re dealing with, we can shape future posts around the problems people actually want solved.
